Epicentre is approximately 10 km north of Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture and 300 km northwest of Tokyo. Latest reports indicate that several houses have collapsed in the region, however, no casualties have been reported at this time. A major tsunami warning has been issued with authorities warning that waves could potentially reach around 5 metres. The nuclear industry operators have reported that nuclear plants in the area have not reported any irregularities.
